A dialogue is born in a prison between Spoon, an African American poet imprisoned for life, and me. After eight years of conversation, Spoon’s words console me, while my ear is a channel for him to the outside world. The film takes as a starting point the desire to measure the power of language, both his poetry and his activist prose, and to share notions of time.

Maidan Nezalezhnosti is Kiev’s central square. It gave its name to the massive anti-government rallies that took place in the winter of 2013-2014 and eventually toppled the regime in Ukraine. However, the joy of freedom was quickly overshadowed by the aftermath: the Russian annexation of Crimea, the bloodshed in the East, the lurking warfare led by PUTIN, and the clashes in Odessa.

The hopes and disillusions of four Lusophone immigrants collide in a chimeric land of plenty called Luxembourg: Fernando, a middle-aged man, arrives in a new country to escape the financial crisis in Portugal, while the ex-con Carlos battles with chronic unemployment. Young Jonathan struggles to find his place in life, whereas Isabel has fled a violent past and tries to start over.

Nelida is an Andean woman able to communicate with nature’s spirits. She feels she is the daughter of the lakes that provide water to her village. But just beneath her lakes, a deposit valued at billions of dollars was discovered, and mining it means drying out the lakes. Nelida then uses all her powers to prevent the mining corporation from destroying the lakes.

Accommodated in the ‘House of the Press’ since Algeria's Bloody Decade of the 1990s, the journalists of the famous daily newspaper El Watan await the completion of their new offices, a symbol of their independence. The filmmaker’s camera is set in their newsroom as they follow the events of this new Algerian spring, when President BOUTEFIKA has set his sights on a fourth term.
