The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) was once considered as the expansive tidal flats connecting the Dadu and Zhuoshui River estuaries in southeastern Taiwan as one of Asia’s most significant wetland areas and this area was once one of Taiwan’s most important bird habitats. But the passage of time has increasingly distanced the local fishing villages from the sea and its sustenance.

CONFESSIONS is not your typical Eco-film. It's the true 30-year odyssey of the adventures of Captain Paul Watson and the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, as seen through the eyes of longest serving crew member, activist and filmmaker Peter Jay Brown. This documentary grants the viewer an intimate look at shipboard life amongst the most radical conservation moment in the world, who gave birth to the modern day environmental movement as we know it today.

The great cycle of the ancient Mayan calendar will end on December 21st, 2012. How does the story end? The remote homelands of the present day Maya in Mexico and Guatemala present a perfect microcosm to show how unhindered globalization is already destroying the Earth and indigenous cultures now under attack for their natural resources from all sides. This film presents another worldview, following six young Mayas into their daily and ceremonial life, revealing their determination to resist the destruction of their culture and environment.

BITTER SEEDS explores the future of how we grow things, weighing in on the worldwide debate over the changes created by industrial agriculture. Companies like the U.S.-based Monsanto claim that their genetically modified (GM) seeds offer the most effective solution to feeding the world’s growing population, but on the ground, many small-scale farmers are losing their land. Nowhere is the situation more desperate than in India, where an epidemic of farmer suicides has claimed over a quarter million lives.

Deep in the rain forests of Eastern Java, Indonesia, lies the active volcano, Kawah Ijen, where 500 sulfur miners carrying backbreaking loads, traverse treacherous terrain amidst spectacular vistas. This film relays the stories of four of these miners, who risk their lives and health daily in an industry we rely on for sugar, matches and cosmetics. This visually stunning and intimate film chronicles their attempts to escape the endemic poverty and lack of education that haunts their community.
