Synopsis
There are so many words that cannot be said in our lives, especially to whom created us. Maria-Claude made use of poetic stock footages and turned them into a leaden yet potent letter to her mother. Hovering between fear, guilt and forgiveness, this intimate work explores the intergenerational relationships touched by mental illness. Through complete manipulation over images and sound, THE BURDEN OF KINSHIP is a perfect example of how documentary can works as a psychotherapist.
