Jury of Asian Vision Competition
Fan WU
Fan Wu is a producer of Mirror Doc, a documentary short programme of Mirror TV. Before that, she was a programmer for TIDF (Taiwan International Documentary Festival), the Director of CCDF (CNEX Chinese Doc Forum), and the Festival Director of CNEX Documentary Film Festival. Born in Taipei, studied Motion Picture at National Taiwan University of Arts, and then received an MSc degree in Festival Producing and Management from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and an MA degree in Documentary by Practice from Royal Holloway College, University of London.
Joost DAAMEN
Joost Daamen is Head of Program Department of International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA). Working for the festival since 2005 he has been part of the selection committee of the main programme; selects the Paradocs programme; and has curated many Focus Programmes over the years.
Thaiddhi
Thaiddhi is a filmmaker, producer, and also film programmer. He studies in a 3-year master’s degree programme in Cinema and Digital Media at FAMU in the Czech Republic. His first short film Awake won Best Short Film at FAMU Fest 2009. He co-founded Wathann Film Festival in 2011 and worked as a programmer for the festival. In 2013 he founded Third Floor Film Production to produce Myanmar Independent short films and documentary films. He produced a short film Cobalt Blue (2019) by Aung Phyoe which was selected for the Pardi di Domani International Competition at the 72nd Locarno Film Festival. He also worked as a Cinematographer in Money Has Four Legs (2020) by Maung Sun, which premiered in New Currents at Busan International Film Festival in 2020. He produced and directed one of the short films from the Ten Years Myanmar omnibus series, which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival 2023.

WU Ming-yi
Wu Ming-yi is a writer, artist, designer, photographer, literary professor, and environmental activist, and his works have been translated into over twenty languages. His novel The Man with the Compound Eyes won the Prix du livre insulaire for best work of fiction in French and was selected for Books at Berlinale. The Magician on the Skywalk was shortlisted for the Prix Emile Guimet de Litterature Asiattique, and The Stolen Bicycle was longlisted for The Man Booker International Prize 2018.
Nishtha JAIN
Nishtha Jain is an award-winning filmmaker from India working in documentary and narrative. She is the recipient of over 25 international awards for her contributions to the documentary field. Jain has made several films touching upon the lives of women in India, including Gulabi Gang (2012) and Lakshmi and Me (2007). Her films have been screened at over 300 film festivals including IDFA, Busan, Slamdance, Viennale, Zurich, and in museums and art-house cinemas. Her recent documentary The Golden Thread premiered at IDFA 2023 and won seven awards at film festivals worldwide.
Yuliia KOVALENKO
Yuliia Kovalenko is a PhD in Cultural Studies, film critic and Head of programming at Docudays UA IHRDFF in Kyiv. She was a lecturer at the University of Odesa. As a film critic, she has publications in Ukrainian and international journals (Kino Raksti, Korydor, Cineticle, La Furia Umana, etc.) and runs her blog about cinema Kinotabs.com. In 2022, she co-curated the programme of Ukrainian cinema ‘Perspectives of Ukrainian Cinema’ for Deutsche Kinemathek. She is a member of the Ukrainian Film Critics Union and the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine. Member of the selection team of Berlinale Forum.
Jury of Taiwan Competition
WANG Chun-chi
Wang Chun-chi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Filmmaking at the National Taipei University of the Arts. She received her Ph.D. in Cinema and Media Studies (previously known as Critical Studies) from the University of Southern California. She served as the director of the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute (2019-2021) and the chairperson of the Taiwan Women's Film Association (2018-2021). Her research expertise includes Taiyupian, representations of gender and sexuality in film/media, cultural studies, and filmmaking as a social practice. She has published articles in academic journals such as Journal of Chinese Cinemas as well as book anthologies, including Thirty-two New Takes on Taiwan Cinema.
Christopher ALLEN
Christopher Allen is the Founder and Executive Artistic Director of UNDO, aka UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art in New York City. Each year UNDO: produces 3 Labs for 36 filmmakers pursuing original shorts and features; designs 24 Workshops on the strongest traditions and freshest ideas in documentary; brings powerful nonfiction work and idea-driven conversations to relevant audiences through 60+ events; manages $750,000+ in grants toward sponsored artist’s production; and runs a fellowship programme to expand radical filmmaking practices. Allen is the co-author, dramaturg and producer of Alison S. M. Kobayashi’s critically acclaimed documentary performance, Say Something Bunny! Collaborative projects he initiated, such as Living Los Sures, united the creative efforts of hundreds of artists and communities. Christopher directed the early interactive documentary Capitol of Punk, exhibited at MoMA, and was a founding partner of Counts Media, where he played a leading role in the invention of many art and entertainment concepts.
Yuki ADITYA
Yuki Aditya (b. Jakarta) graduated from University of Indonesia majoring in Fiscal Administration. He once worked as a tax auditor at a Public Accounting Firm in Jakarta. He has been the Festival Director of ARKIPEL International Documentary and Experimental Film Festival since 2013, and also acting as a producer of films produced by Forum Lenteng; Golden Memories: Petite Histoire of Indonesian Cinema (2018), Om Pius…This is My Home Come the Sleeping (2019), Dolo (2021). Along with I Gde Mika as directors of the film, The Myriad of Faces of Future Challengers (2022). At Forum Lenteng, he is part of the routine screening programme team, curating world cinema with Indonesian subtitles for cinema literacy programmes.
Jury of TIDF Visionary Award
Jill LI
Jill Li, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker, deeply attuned to the individual's struggles and decisions amidst societal shifts, debuted with her first feature-length documentary, Lost Course. Spanning eight years of meticulous filming and production, the film has garnered acclaim for its human-centred approach and its skilful portrayal of intricate themes. It received multiple prestigious awards, including three accolades at the 2021 Taiwan International Documentary Festival (the Merit Prize in the Asian Vision Competition, the Special Jury Prize in the Chinese Documentary Award, and the Taiwan Film Critics Society Prize). In 2020, it secured the esteemed 57th Golden Horse Award for Best Documentary. Additionally, Lost Course was selected for screening at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam in 2020 and the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2019.
HU Mu-ching
Hu Mu-ching is a journalist, commentator and non-fiction writer from Taiwan. She was a journalist for a daily news agency, Taiwan Public Television Service and acts as culture team supervisor of Mirror Media now. Her reports covered public policy, human rights, environmental issues, energy transition and climate change. In the last ten years, she has been paying attention to murder cases in Taiwan and published a true crime book in 2024.
Christopher SMALL
Christopher Small is a writer, film programmer, and publisher born in the United Kingdom and living in Prague, Czech Republic. He is Editorial Manager at the Locarno Film Festival, where he has also run the Critics Academy since 2017. Previously, he was a programmer at Sheffield DocFest (2019-21) and DAFilms, the VOD platform of Doc Alliance (2020-23). He regularly writes about movies for a variety of international publications, including MUBI, Cinema Scope, and Cineaste. He is an editor and founder of the print publication Outskirts Film Magazine and co-founded the cinema Kino Petrohradská in Prague in 2021, which regularly invites international filmmakers to present their work in the city.
