The Birth of the Phoenix

Effort of sculptor Charles Nassar to turn the war and the sequels of the war to a love and peace message by using the same destruction materials and remains of the war. The Civil War of Lebanon between 1975 and 1990 caused a lot of people's lives and exhaustion. Charles tries to make people to forget the wounds caused by bombs with his art. The mystery remains in redefining material itself to produce his artwork.

The Woman, the Orphan, and the Tiger

This film follows a group of international adoptees and other women of the Korean Diaspora in their twenties & thirties. It explores the ways in which trauma is passed on from previous generations to the present. The film exposes how this part of world history has been systematically silenced, but reverberates in the present moment.

We Are Alive

This is a process of conducting media production workshops in juvenile reform and welfare institutes. The teenagers in the workshop play with still and video cameras and sound recorders to express themselves. They write "video letters" to strangers and to their future selves. This film helps us to gain a fresh understanding of these incarcerated youths' fascinating life stories told from their unique perspectives.
