Karmapa-Two Ways of Divinity

Karmapa is the spiritual leader, as a living Buddha, of the peace-loving Buddhist tradition in Tibet. Journey to Beijing

The ''Miao-Tuan'' Group started off on a two-month ''Walk to Beijing'' trip in February, 1997, to commemorate Hong Kong 's return to China. The group traversed through Guangzhou, across the Yellow River, to Mao Zedong's birthplace, to Tiananmen Square, and finally to the Great Wall. The trip provided a unique way of viewing the post-1997 relationship between China and Hong Kong.

Pyongyang Diaries

What effect did the handover have on their self-identity?

Where Has the Land Gone?

Ma-Be-Hao is a small branch of Tai-Ya tribe. Due to the swift changes of the political power in the island, the tribe lost their land. They stated the requirement toward the government, but got the reply as it is hard to define so-called ''native'' and to consider the ownership of the land. However, they keep it in mind that they must acquire land back some day.

Katmandu Rockn' Roll

Satis, a 21-year-old Nepalese man, formed a rock group in the capital of Nepal. His Australian girlfriend wound like to take him with her to Australia while he found there is no chance for him to develop his music career if he keeps staying in Katmandu. It seems to him that a choice between the traditional life at home and western life style overseas should be decided.

Homesick 2000 Meters

The city of Xiamen and the island of Jinmen face each other across the Taiwan Straits. Fishermen began to travel between the two locations after Martial Law was lifted in 1987, resulting in intermarriages. Brides from Xiamen have to spend a long journey to Jinmen, even though you can see Jinmen from Xiamen with naked eye. The homesickness of the brides is a fitting analogy of the relationship between Taiwan and mainland.
