Taiwan was enveloped within a cloud of political repression in the 1950s, as the KMT stabilized its power base in the Cold War by carrying out mass political persecution. The racetrack in Hsintian, left over from the Japanese Occupation Period, became the execution ground for the KMT. Countless spilled their blood and died on the yellow earth, their tortured souls crying out through history.
