新竹限定專題｜蕭美玲：生命書寫與影像凝視

蕭美玲，現任國立臺北教育大學藝術與造形設計學系副教授。她在2000年畢業於法國 Le Fresnoy 國立當代藝術工作室，師從旅法美籍藝術家羅伯・克拉瑪（Robert Kramer），開啟紀錄片創作之路。

她的紀錄片總以個人經驗為起點，交織記憶、家庭與文化認同。1999年《斷線風箏》從夢境出發，回望家族與日治時代的記憶；2004年《雲的那端》聚焦她成為母親的歷程，及台法混血女兒的文化掙扎，進而帶出家庭在跨國界、跨文化、實體與虛擬的當代議題；2022年《平行世界》歷時十二年拍攝，陪伴亞斯伯格症女兒的成長，細膩描繪母女情感與自我追尋。此三部作品皆入圍頗負盛名的山形國際紀錄片影展，並於國際影展大放異彩。

作為藝術家與紀錄片創作者，蕭美玲始終思索影像在當代語境中的可能性。她的作品風格極具個人筆觸，堅韌且勇敢地凝視生命在不同階段的狀態。本次新竹巡迴亦展映其鮮少公開的短片，包括實驗性強烈的《字．人》（1996）與都市肖像作品《城市靈光》（2008），呈現其跨越紀錄與藝術的多樣創作視野。

Love and Hope in the City

The Falling Kite

影片介於虛構與真實之間，一場夢在我內心激發出一連串的影像，三個人超越時空地相互呼應，個人的、歷史的記憶開始交錯不清。透過導演自身旅居國外的鄉愁、祖母對日據時代礦工祖父的回憶、與一位中法混血的張先生追憶父親的口述，這些回憶與傷感構成了幻境，帶領我們穿越記憶與歷史，開始在離散與放逐中試著追尋平凡百姓的內心的感情和記憶。

Lettre, L’être

對影像的出現和消失的思考。
作者自我的影像隨著創作材料的準備（磨墨），從漸漸浮現到攪亂至凝結，當毛筆吸收墨汁，作者的影像被毛筆所吞噬，作者的靈魂轉換成創作材料，成為一種符碼，作為創作行為和作者之間的一種辯証。

Parallel World

Using video diary footage, Parallel World chronicles the 12-year journey of Elodie, a French-Taiwanese girl with Asperger syndrome. Through Elodie's drawings and clay works, the audience can take a glimpse of her whimsical world. The film, a mother's love letter to her daughter, follows them on a journey of self-seeking and self-recognition.

Exclusive Programme in Hsinchu｜Filmmaker in Focus: Hsiao Mei-ling

Hsiao Mei-ling, born in Keelung, Taiwan. After studying at the National School of Art and Design of Nancy, she graduated from Le Fresnoy National Studio of the Contemporary Arts in 2000. In 2007, her film Somewhere over the Cloud received Special Mention of New Asian Currents at Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival. In 2022, Parallel World was selected in International Competition at IDFA and DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, winning the Directors Guild of Japan Award at YIDFF, Japan. Currently, she serves as an associate professor in the Department of the Arts and Design at the National Taipei University of Education.
