Jump! Boys

Synopsis

Seven boys from different backgrounds, each with his own personality and temperament, have one thing in common: after school, they don't play video games or hang out in McDonald's, but go straight to the gym to practice gymnastics. "No matter how hard it is, you keep practicing; when you're done crying, you keep practicing; when you're done yelling, you keep practicing; after you fall you get back up and keep practicing; no matter how much it hurts, you just keep on practicing." Are these kids crazy? Abandoning the serious, heavy pace of traditional documentary, the film's lively rhythm reveals relaxed, humorous observations. The coach is like the boys' stern father and loving mother all in one. The film takes up the road he's traveled, too, and examines his feelings for his old teammates with whom he has lost contact. Comparing past and present, the film considers Taiwan's physical education environment.
