Journey

This documentary shows the famous Czech New Wave film director Vera Chytilova as she is now. The seventy-four year old lady is still gighting her battles in her professional and personal life. She is respected as someone who was instrumental in the history of Czech Film, but that is not enough. While she was making films she still had the strength to fight communist prohibitions. Some of the films she made are world masterpieces and have won a lot of prizes. In her private life, she had a wonderful family; she was merried to a famous cameraman and had two children, cats and dogs, a real home; but when she looks back she has difficulty seeing any meaning in her long and fruitful life.
