Small Talk

We live in the same space, my mother and I. But we are like strangers under one roof. Our only exchanges are the meals she cooks and leaves for me on our dining table. No hellos, no goodbyes, and no ‘I love you’. Silence permeates our house as I watch her, knowing that beneath the deafening silence lies a secret that weighs heavily on her, keeping her from speaking. But am I ready to hear what she has to say?

Pale Blue

The film follows four veterans living in a psychiatric hospital in Tehran. Victims of the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq War, they have gone through 30 years of treatment and yearn to resume a normal life outside the sanatorium. However, reality and the forgetfulness of people, as well as the irreversible trauma, make them return to where they want to escape from.

Nature: All Rights Reserved

Artificial grass on the balcony, a meeting hall with forest wallpaper, a palm beach in a dentist’s waiting room. This short documentary examines the role of nature simulations in our society. To what extent does artificial nature satisfy the city dwellers and where are these simulations still falling short? Will artificial nature ever replace real nature?

El Mar la Mar

The sun beats down mercilessly on all those who cross the Sonoran Desert between Mexico and the United States. The poorest of undocumented immigrants have no choice but to take this extremely dangerous route. El Mar la Mar weaves together sublime 16mm shots of nature, animals, people and the tracks they leave behind, creating a multi-faceted panorama of a highly politicised stretch of land.

Ma'ohi Nui, in the Heart of the Ocean My Country Lies

French colonial history and 30 years of nuclear tests have filled Tahitian shantytowns with an alienated and tired people. Today the Ma'ohi people have forgotten their language, ignored their history and lost their connection to their land and to the world. The film shows the face of contemporary colonisation and the vital impetus of a people trying not to forget themselves and silently seeking the path of independence.

Hotel Jugoslavija

Erected in Belgrade in 1969, The Hotel Jugoslavija was a mythical place, both a symbol and a witness to the moments that shaped former Yugoslavia: from TITO to MILOSEVIC; from NATO's bombing to corrupted liberalism. It is still haunting Belgrade’s landscape. With this journey through the times and spaces of the building, the director explores a collective unconscious as well as a part of his own identity.

Granny Project

Three grandsons embark with their grannies on an anarchic journey into the past - a complex road movie about intergenerational dialogue in Great Britain, Germany and Hungary. Granny Project is a coming of age story of three young men and a ‘coming out of age’ tale of their grandmothers, an experiment to form a language that the forthcoming generations could use to keep the 20th-century values alive.
