The Gospel According to the Papuans

The Hulis is one of 700 tribes living in Papua New Guinea, and one of the last tribe to come into contact with white people. Recently, the lives of the tribesmen have changed. In imitation of their leader and the oldest member of the tribe-Ghini, the entire tribe had themselves baptized. An important reason for this shift was the announcement by missionaries that Jesus will return to earth in the year 2000 and that the Last Judgment will be passed.
