Between the Devil and the Deep River

Synopsis

The film talks about the development plans that have destroyed the livelihoods of tens of millions of people in Bihar, India. Bihar has been devastated by man-made floods, and its citizens are victims of human rights abuse, especially by the powerful politician-bureaucrat-engineer-contractor nexus. The proud people of Bihar are forced to leave their ancestral land to migrate to other parts of India. They are forced to work as laborers and their children as child laborers.
