Sobbing Land

Sobbing Land documents the turmoil wrought by the collapse of an unlawful housing development project on a hillside in Shi-zse. A taiphoon-triggered mudslide demolished the hillside community of Lincoln Mansion. The victims, people who moved to suburban Taipei, lost family members and their homes. The documentary shows the strengths that these families have regained since the traumatic experience, and how they face each other’s distinct but equally saddening stories.
