The Makavejev Case or Trial in a Movie Theater

In 1971, Dušan MAKAVEJEV's daring and innovative political satire film, WR: Mysteries of the Organism, was condemned in a public debate in Yugoslavia under the auspices of the Communist Party, leading to MAKAVEJEV's exile from his home country and the blacklisting of the film. Paying homage to one of the greatest Eastern European filmmakers, this documentary 'plays back' the incident at the original site, seeking to redress the oppression and injustice in a 'democracy' without true freedom.
