A-Shan

Synopsis

A-Shan and his father are hunters in a tribe. When they go into the mountains to hunt, they put traps on the passages used by the animals. However, A-Shan now has to work as a migrant laborer to build hiking trails on his ancestors’ land. It’s won’t be animals that will cross the trails, but visitors from the plain below. The film evolved around three generations of A-Shan’s family, documenting everyday detail of their daily life. What is oblique in the film is the ghost of the State hovering in the air.
