Limes: Bioborder/ Park/ Spektakel

Arbitrary Divisions - political, societal and natural - are explored in this essay film that uses quotations from political and cultural thinkers either read on the soundtrack or overlaid on the image. In this film, The filmmakers explore some of the symbolism of a region where nature and politics collide in a rather abstract way and were soldiers patrol cheek-by-jowl with ecologists, each offering protection in very diverse ways. The film's the thematic center is effectively rendered in visual form - a road stretching to the horizon is shown dividing of field, a pastoral idyll is obscured by a row of soldiers on bicycles gliding past the camera.
