Synopsis
Constructed as a seamless rhapsody on social activism and worldwide political wars of the 1960s and 1970s - Vietnam, Bolivia, Prague and Chile - this documentary film is regarded as a watershed work. It moves at a rapid pace - breathlessly pausing to take in the death of Che Guevara. At the center of the film, is the war in Vietnam. Chris Marker examines its effects on the public consciousness. Through a magnificent display of montage editing techniques, the filmmaker provides his own insights into these events.
