Synopsis
It took two years to complete “Dancing in the Light”. The film moves from the Japan, colonization of Taiwan to the 1980s, from silent movies to the golden age of Taiwanese film. It illustrates the evolution of cinematography, depicting Taiwan’s unique political situation and the movie industry. The film includes rarely seen documentary footage and photos taken from the private collections of cinematographers. Also included in the film is Taiwan’s first short film directed by HO Gi-Min and lots of precious images from old movies which are combined with the off-screen narrations of veteran photographers.
