Synopsis

In 1976, the deserted Zhanghua Coast was chosen for development as the long-term base for the heavy chemical industry of Mid-Taiwan. At the same time, the American Du Pond Company, the biggest chemical industry in the world, proposed a sixty-four-billion investment in “TiO2”. However, the deserted coast and the American company have become the focus of the mass media, social movement of workers and intellectuals as they fight for a call for an environmental evaluation.
